This Christine is ... ( 4 months ago by grace317)
This Christine is really unlikeable and selfish..She jumps from Raoul to the Phantom and back as she wishes, and has no sympathy for the Phantom at any point--she only thinks of herself, her career and her safety. Even when Raoul and the Police Officer were getting tortured, she still thought only of herself. Anyway, can someone explain to me the thing about keeping their hands up? Never understood it. On a side note, Raoul looks like Gomez from the Addams Family.

i like both versions. Andrew lloyd webber's version has an impact too, actually because the phantom really isn't quite so hideous. it makes a pretty contemporary statement about society and it's demands for perfection. lon chaney will always be the classic phantom though

I like both versions too, but for me the Chaney version is vastly superior. But then again, I like a good blend of horror and romance in Phantom adaptations, and the Lloyd Webber version had more of an emphasis on the romantic aspect of the story than it did on the horror aspect.
