In september 1991 the Metropolitan Opera celebrated it's 25th anniversary at Lincoln Center by performing three different acts from a selection of popular Met productions. In the final act (act II of Die Fledermaus) there were some special guest performances by highly renowned opera stars.

Io non capisco perchè noi italiani, invece di apprezzare la ENORME STATURA ARTISTICA ed umana di persone che hanno dato lustro al nostro paese, tendiamo sempre, diversamente dagli stranieri, a gettare fango inutile. Circo? Ridicolo? Mediocrità? Ognuno si faccia un esame di coscienza prima di parlare male di persone che non hanno fatto altro che ingigantire la diffusione della cultura musicale nel mondo intero.

: Pavarotti e Domingo hanno commercializzato la lirica in modo PESANTISSIMO e, per colpa loro, una MAREA di GRANDISSIMI cantanti lirici è dovuta rimanere nell'ombra più totale ( le cito un certo ANTONIO ANNALORO, tagliato fuori dal mondo dell'opera dalle " agenzie - Pavarotti " ). La differnza tra PAMINGO e LUCIANONE sta nel fatto che, mentre PAVAROTTI nel suo repertorio era effettivamente ECCELSO, Domingo dal vivo non ha mai avuto mezzo acuto decente. Tanti carissimi saluti !

hoy en dia las personas han perdido la magia de la musicaa ellos la buscan y tratan de buscarla por medio del instrumento mas lo que no saven que el instrumento que deber perfeccionar es la voz madre de todo sonido bello...bravo bravo esa si es musica !!!!!

Fantastico! Claro que Domingo se submete a papel de baritono pois Pava sempre foi considerado o Grande, alem do que Pava nao teria consições alguma de fazer papel de barítono, diferentemente do versátil e magnifico Placido. Para os puritanos da musica classica, julguem como horrendo, terrivel. Eu classifico como maravilhoso, inesquecivel e historico. Essa apresentação no met deu abertura para criação dos 3 tenores. A musica mudou a partir daí!

Vaya, vaya, ¡Qué más se podía esperar! Un patético gachupín defendiendo otro gachupín tan o más patético (lo dífícil es adivinar quién es quién, pues férreamente se obstinan en obtener el primer lugar). La versión gallega -y patética- de "Oliver y Stanley" de la ópera. ¡Mejor canten zarzuela! A fin de cuentas, sólo a los gachupines les importa si la tabernera del puerto era o no una vulgar sirena.

De donde sacas tanta sapiencia y a la vez tanto rencor con tu anégdota salpicada de envidia y picardía?. Creo que entiendes un poco (eso creo) de La Boheme "O Mimì, Tu Più Non Torni", la cuerda está bastante bien, la expresión ni dudarlo, si bien es cierto el centro de voz no es vasto para el papel de Marcelo en esa etapa del gran Plácido Domingo su voz luce esplendorosa, no te olvides que en el 2010 se le consideró el mejor Tenor de la historia, y no lo dije Yo, lo puedes investigar.

Oh Placido...
You know you are going to heaven because of your incomparable and heart-wrenching voice, but in reality you belong in hell for seducing so many weak hearts this shamelessly. Has a performer more perfect ever existed? We are so very fortunate to be exposed to such artistry and genuine soul from both of these gentlemen - and many others like Sutherland, Sills, Nilsson, Callas, Tebaldi, Freni, Corelli, Dimitrova etc.
And I particularly love this aria, so what a treat this is!
